Season over for Miami FC? Time to work on the Strikers!

Things haven't gone well for Miami FC this season. A late start (As seems to be the norm for this club) was eclipsed by a few important signings such as former MLS players Christian Gomez, Abe Thompson, Chris Gbandi, Mike Randolph, just to name a few. The problem is that despite an interesting line up of players the Blues never seemed to find their groove. Perhaps it was the coaching? Maybe the late start of the preseason? What we do know is that Miami FC's current season is pretty much over. It's time to think about next season and get things ready NOW!

As most of us know Miami FC will become the Strikers next season and with that there is a responsibility to the legacy that is the Strikers name and it's history. A team that according to everyone's favorite soccer historian Robert Scorca, never failed to make the playoffs. With that in mind things need to be done right from the start.

Traffic Sports, Miami FC's owners will have to do their homework and not make mistakes as they have throughout their short history with Miami FC. Take this weekends game at Rochester, for more on the game go HERE. The Rhino's had a throw back game which saw the home team sport the old NASL Lancers KIT with Miami FC wearing a Strikers T-Shirt... because that's what it looked like, an ugly put together at the last moment, T-shirt. Time to bring back the old Strikers look, not that T-shirt abomination we saw Saturday. Traffic also needs to bring out the Strikers brand during the few games that are left to get people ready to what is coming next season. Time to look at how they will advertise. They should go after a radio station, hell, go after a local TV station. In essence Traffic needs to go all out on this one. It's still going to be difficult to sell Division 2 soccer but there is still much passion and respect from those that remember NASL's Ft Lauderdale Strikers. Give us a good product from day one and people will be interested in this team.

Rumors have been going around that Traffic might be looking at taking the Strikers to MLS. It was even mentioned by Jeff Rusnack in the Sun Sentinel. If that is the case then it would be a good idea if Traffic announces those intentions. Why not? It would make many of those "Elitest Soccer snobs" who only support their teams from back home consider going to games to support a team that is bound for MLS. Look what it did for attendance at cities like Toronto who with the Lynx had low attendance, yet with Toronto FC things changed and look at attendance now. Same thing with the Sounders and MLS bound Portland.
With MLS's new 3 Designated player rule an MLS South Florida team could potentially be successful. If you think about it, what player would not want to come to Miami? A player like Ronaldinho alone could fill Lockhart. Give us 3 of that caliber and we might need a bigger stadium.

What it comes down to is that Traffic has the golden opportunity to make something happen with the new Strikers. Time to take the experiences learned with Miami FC and implement them to make this club a success. We can only hope that Traffic will learn from their mistakes and not give us another night with an ugly T-shirt and a hurried product.

We learned that Miami FC had nothing to do with the Strikers jerseys worn in Rochester this weekend. It was, after all, a Rochester event organized by that organization.
So, for all those fans that screamed bloody murder, do not panic! Those were not the new jerseys.

Hulk, please bring your daughter to the Miami FC game! by Burrito

Burrito is happy Hulk Hogan going to be at 2 Miami FC games as he wrestle to beat your property taxes, like he used to wrestle Andre the Giant and Ultimate Warrior!

But Burrito really hope the Hulkster brings his daughter Brooke! She is one hot mamacita! Burrito going to ask Hulk if it ok if Burrito marry her and then we have little Hogan Burritos! If you no think Brooke is muy caliente here are some pictures of her... Ay chihuahua!:

Pero if you can't make that one then you can see Hulk Hogan on Tuesday, September 8th when Miami FC will play against the Rochester Rhinos @ Lockhart Stadium! Hulk Hogan will also appear!

Miami FC Defender Jack Traynor on The DA Show WQAM 560 Radio listen to the podcast

No, it's not the Jack Trainer portrayed by Harrison Ford on 1988's Working Girl. We are talking about Miami FC Defender Jack Traynor (#15) Traynor has so far this year played 16 minutes against the Rochester Raging Rhinos and has received a yellow card! Traynor played at Notre Dame, and was drafted by the New York Red Bulls.

Jack came out in "The DA Show" on local Sports station WQAM 560 Radio yesterday.

The Burrito Report: Parte Dos Miami FC vs Canadian Vatos and Rhino-cerotes!

Hola South Florida futbol fans! (Click on highlighted words if you don't know the meaning of the word) Burritos mami come from Toluca this week and it a good thing cause with that Cochino Flu ting going it dangerous to be in Mexico now! Todays Burrito have mucho to talk about. Primero, Burrito happy Miami FC beat them Canadian Putos by 2-1. Goals by Burritos carnal Diego Serna and Leo Inacio and then them chingones from Canada score one but who really cares? No? The Blues won and that all that matters!
Burrito like FIU stadiums, it very nice and cozy and makes Burrito wanna put on a poncho and live there forevers pero then Burrito see it half plastic for grass and that no good cause that no good! Burrito cant even smoke that grass! No good for balls controls and Burrito like havings mucho balls control! It make burrito feel good and all the mamacitas like that.
Pero bueno, then Miami FC play back in Lockhearts versus those Rhino-cerotes from almost Canada, or someplace gawd forget about cause Burrito no care and unfortunetedly Miami FC lose and that make Burrito sad, pero it ok Burrito forgive players since Serna and Leo Inacio was not playings. Next games is Saturday May 2 against the Charleston Battery at Lockhart Stadium. All Burritos homeboys need to go or Burrito hit you on head! Last game Burrito was eating quesadilla with Corona beers in Lockheart Stadiums an the other team score Gol! Burrito almost chokes, It make bad for Burritos digestion when other team score! When Burrito first move from Toluca to Homestead Burrito used to takes the bus all the ways to Lockhearts to see Miami Fusion! So all you chingones cry babies need to get some huevos like Burrito and supports Miami FC in good and bad no matters where they are at. Miami FC is all Burrito half now and if South Florida lose this teams then Burrito will go on quesadilla strike! No more quesadillas ever!

Rhinos hurt the Blues, Southern Legion has new website, pictures and more

The Rochester Raging Rhinos ended Miami FC's winning streak with a 2-1 victory at Lockhart Stadium. I wasn't able to attend this game but knowing Leo Inacio was hurt and seeing Diego Serna getting a Red vs Montreal it was apparent this was going to be an up hill battle. South Florida fans can rest assured we have a team that is still up in the standings and will have both players ready for the next game Saturday May 2 against the Charleston Battery at Lockhart Stadium. It's good to see that Miami FC is attracting more fans and with the addition of the Southern Legion we now have 2 Supporters groups that are ready to bleed Blue! Miami FC till the end!

Oui Oui! Miami Defeats Montreal 2-1

Miami FC remain undefeated after last nights victory over the Montreal Impact by 2-1 on goals by Serna (penalty) and Leo Inacio. Gjertsen scored for Montreal.
The Miami Herald reports a very low attendance but there must be a mistake, it looked like at least 3 thousand out there as Miami FC played for the first time at FIU stadium.
Montreal dictated play in the first half and parts of the second but it is goals that win games and the rowdy Miami Ultras never ceased to chant and sing for their team.
"I am very happy with the players, with the work they put in the last twenty days, for this team to come out and win their first games is very impressive. It's like the Miami FC jersey is their second skin" said head coach Zinho on the Miami FC site
Miami will be without star forward Diego Serna for their game vs the Rochester Raging Rhinos after he was ejected after receiving a second yellow at the end of the game.
South Florida fans need to go out and support Miami FC as they play vs the Rhinos at Lockhart Stadium this Sunday April 26 at 6pm. We need everyone out there!
